| In 1979 Brian
Griffiths of Beeston (Nottingham) fell from the top of the bridge
down onto the towpath. It was 'pitch black' - not even any stars - and we were 'feeling our way' to the footpath. Brian thought he had located the path, but had merely passed through the small gap between the safety barrier / bollard and the bridge wall - see top right of bridge ! Though he was 'unconscious' for a while, he had fortunately only broken his thumb. The moral is - ALWAYS CARRY a TORCH !!
Sadly, Brian passed away on Tuesday 20th May, 2003 following MANY years
suffering Regrettably, Tina's condition has
deteriorated - she is now separated from Jason and is in a care home
near to Mum Sheila. |
