Red - WAIT - lock keeper on duty
Green - enter the lock - lock keeper on duty

Amber - User Operation

Use British Waterways 'Watermate' (Yale) Key

Work from top to bottom:
Insert key - wait for 'lock ready' light to come on
Press 'open sluices' (sluices will lift automatically - in stages)
When 'water level' light comes on press & hold 'open gates' button
Allow boat to enter lock, then
press & hold 'close gates' button
When 'gates closed' light comes on press 'close sluices' button
When 'sluices closed' light comes on remove key
Repeat the above procedure at the 'other end' of the lock
