Blue Water Marina Ltd

WIRELESS  BROADBAND  INTERNET CONNECTION

It is now possible to connect to the marina broadband internet service by means of a wireless connection.

A 'Belkin' wireless router has been installed in the marina office.

The range is likely to be very short - say to the clubhouse - and every pc to be connected will require wireless interface hardware and software.

Some modern computers have this facility 'built in' (integrated), others will require a plug-in adapter:
Laptop computers often have a 'slot' for a 'plug-in' card;
Others will require an adapter - usually to a USB port connection.

The maximum number of connections will be limited to 8 or 9, each will be given a security password, on a 'first come, first served' basis.

The cost of this service has yet to be determined - Claire Priestley has invested a considerable amount of money in the cost of the wireless router and the marina have invested in the necessary hardware upgrade (plus the cost of the business broadband service).
