Dear George,
I hope that you are feeling a bit better - any news re the
hernia operation ?
Junes brother-in-law, Denis, had his operation at LGI on 10th
October and was only in for 2 nights. He had another check
at LGI on 14th November and everything is fine. Obviously
he had some soreness for about a month. As I told you,
Denis is 83 years of age and had a triple heart bypass operation
some 17 years ago !
Like you, Denis has difficulty with his balance and they don't
seem to be able to find a reason for that. However, if he
is careful walking, (with a stick and / or shopping trolley
etc.) he manages ok. Again, like you, Denis lives on
his own - having lost his wife Lily, (Junes sister), to cancer
some 5 years ago.
So ......
I don't see why an operation would be more dangerous for you ?
I am given to understand that Harrogate are very good with such
operations.
I read in the Wakefield Express that
Susan Hauxwell, (Peter's disabled daughter), died peacefully in
her sleep on 8th November. It didn't give her age but I
suspect she would be in her late 50's. She was, I
believe, about 19 when she was involved in the car crash with
her boyfriend but I can't remember the year. Another
blow for Peter - I think his wife Barbara died partially as a
result of the stress. However, I am sure that his son
Robert, daughter ?? and their families will be a tremendous
support to him.
I have enclosed a copy of the latest
version of the DVD that Paul Brow has sent me. Please note
the copyright ! I think it excellent and am sure
that you will find it interesting.
I have also enclosed an article from the
Yorkshire Evening Post - Thursday 29th November - about Robert
Hields, the owner of the
Hields Aviation at Sherburn
Aerodrome.
